Three in court over July 7 bombings charges
The first people to be charged in connection with the July 7 London bomb attacks have appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from prison.
Mohammed Shakil, 30, Sadeer Saleem, 26 and Waheed Ali, 23, all from Beeston, Leeds are charged with conspiring to cause explosions with the four men who carried out the suicide bomb attacks - Mohammed Sidique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer, Jermaine Lindsay and Hasib Hussain.
They were remanded in custody until June 8.
Fifty-two people were killed in the bomb attacks on three Tube trains and a bus in the capital on July 7.

Police granted more time to question terror suspects
Police have been granted more time to continue questioning 14 men arrested in a series of anti-terror raids conducted in London at the weekend. The Metropolitan Police have been granted warrants to continue questioning three suspects until Wednesday, while the other eleven men can be questioned until Friday.

A man has been charged under the Terrorism Act 2000 in connection with the attempted bombings in London on July 21, 2005. Detectives from Scotland Yard’s Terrorism Command arrested Lukimon Sulaimon, 23, in Brighton on Tuesday.

UK embassy in Riyadh evacuated over terror threats
The UK embassy in Riyadh has been closed today over fears that more terror attacks are on the way. In an interview with Radio Four today, the British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sir Derek Plumbly, said that the embassy would be closed to the public for a few days.
