Boy, 4, mauled by dog
A four-year-old blind boy is being treated in hospital after being mauled by a dog in north Wales.
Thomas Miles was attacked by the dog, thought to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback, outside a house in Greenfield, Holywell on Tuesday evening.
His father Steven, who is also blind, and an off-duty policeman, Tony Jones, were also injured as they attempted to stop the attack.
Thomas is still in Glan Clwyd hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. His injuries are believed to be serious, but not life threatening.
His father and Mr Jones were also treated in hospital, but were later discharged.
A vet destroyed the dog. North Wales Police said that preliminary inquiries showed that the animal was not a prohibited breed, banned under the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act. They are continuing to investigate the attack.
