Mourinho arrested over dog row
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been arrested and cautioned following an argument with police over his pet dog.
According to a report in 'The Sun', the 44-year-old was at Chelsea's player-of-the-year awards when his wife called him to say that his pet Yorkshire terrier, was being taken away by police.
It is understood that police, along with an animal welfare officer, went to Mourinho's London home to seize the animal under the Animal Health Act of 1981 and the Rabies Order Act of 1974, because it was believed that it had been taken abroad and had not had the necessary injections.
A spokesperson for Scotland Yard confirmed that a 44-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of obstructing police and received a caution.
The terrier is currently on the loose after Mourinho set it free so that it could escape from officers and a dog warden has now been dispatched by Westminster City Council in order to find the animal.
