Foster suspect can be extradited for trial
A court in India has ruled that the prime suspect in the rape and murder of a British teenager can be extradited to the UK.
Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, who was detained by Indian authorities in 2004, claims he is innocent and has described the extradition order as unfair.
Hannah Foster, 17, was murdered after a night out in Southampton in 2003. A postmortem showed that Ms Foster had been raped and strangled.
The Delhi court found that UK police had established that there was a case to answer.
British authorities have two months in which to submit the application for extradition against Mr Kohli.
In a statement the British High Commission in Delhi described the court's finding as a "positive development."
It is reported that the case has been to court around 100 times in the three years since Mr Kohli was arrested.
