BAE review head named

A former Lord Chief Justice has been tipped to take the lead in the independent review of the business of BAE Systems.

Lord Wolfe will chair the ethics committee to examine the business practices followed by BAE Systems in relation to arms deals.

The Guardian and the BBC revealed last week that millions of pounds had been placed in accounts of Prince Bandar in connection with the Al-Yamamah deal.

The deal was for the supply of £43 billion of arms and equipment in the 1980s.

The Prince has denied any wrongdoing in relation to the arms deal.
