Appeal over arson attack at football stadium

Police in Somerset have appealed for information following an arson attack on a football stadium in Midsomer Norton.

The blaze broke out at the seating stand at Welton Rovers football club in North Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Around 15 metres of seating was destroyed during the blaze, which was discovered around 5:55am on Sunday.

Police are keen to speak to the owner of a gold-coloured Honda motorbike which was seen at the location at around the time of the blaze.

Anyone who noticed anybody acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the blaze is asked to contact Bath CID on: 0845 4567000.

Fire Closes Oxfordshire Shopping Outlet
A fire has broken out at the Bicester Village shopping outlet in Oxfordshire. The blaze started at around 8.45am this morning it is understood. Seven fire crews are currently at the scene as they try to extinguish the fire. It is thought the blaze broke out at Carluccio's restaurant on the site. Its roof has been destroyed.

Johnson Resigns As England Coach
Martin Johnson has resigned from his post as manager of England's rugby union team after a disappointing World Cup campaign and a number of player controversies. Johnston's contract was due to expire at the end of the year but after considering his future, Johnson informed the Rugby Football Union of his intention to stand down.
