Three soldiers killed in three days
Three British soldiers have been killed in Iraq in three days.
The latest soldier to die was Corporal Christopher Read, 22, who was one of those injured in an operation to round up suspected militants in Basra.
Serving with the 3 Regiment Royal Military Police, Cpl Read was seriously injured in a roadside blast that killed his colleague Lance Corporal Ryan Francis, 23, of the 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh.
An investigation is taking place into a fatal accident in which Rifleman Edward Vakabua, 23, of 4th Battalion The Rifles, was killed at the Basra Palace base on Friday.

Three British soldiers have been killed and one seriously injured by a roadside bomb in Basra. The explosion occurred in the Al Amtahiya district in the south east of Basra City at around 1am local time on Thursday when the troops were outside their armoured warrior vehicle.

Soldiers Killed In Afghanistan Named
Two British soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan trying to rescue a wounded colleague have been named by the Ministry of Defence. Corporal Matthew James Stenton, 23, from the Royal Dragoon Guards and Lance Corporal Stephen Daniel Monkhouse, 28, from 1st Battalion Scots Guards were killed in Lashkar Gah in Helmand province on Wednesday evening.

MoD names soldier killed in Afghanistan
The Ministry of Defence has named a British soldier who was killed in southern Afghanistan. Corporal Darren Bonner, of the 1st Battalion The Royal Anglican Regiment, was killed in an explosion in the Gereshk region of the Helmand province.

British soldier killed in Basra
A British soldier has died during an attack on an army base in Basra, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed. The soldier, who has not been named, was from the 2nd Battalion Duke of Lancaster's Regiment. It is understood that the soldier was killed when the base came under small arms fire. There were no other casualties in the incident.
