Sketch Of Possible Madeleine 'Abductor' Released
A sketch of a man whom the parents of Madeleine McCann believe may have abducted their daughter has been released.
The sketch was drawn by an FBI-trained forensic artist and is based on the description provided by Jane Tanner, a friend of the McCanns who was on holiday with them in Portugal when the four-year-old vanished on May 3.
The image shows a man with dark, greasy, collar-length straggly hair, wearing a purple or maroon top with beige trousers.
Ms Tanner said that she saw the man walking from the McCanns' holiday apartment in the resort in Praia da Luz carrying a child wearing pyjamas which were the same as Madeleine's.
She described the man as being aged between 35 to 40, 5ft 6ins tall and of slim build.
However, the face in the picture has been left blank, because Ms Tanner was not certain of some details.
The McCanns' spokesperson confirmed that the image had been commissioned by private detectives working for the couple.
Mr Mitchell said: "This is another important phase of our investigation into Madeline's abduction and we hope that this picture will be a very important reminder to anyone who was in the area on that night who may have seen this man."
