Multiple Arrests In Major Drugs Raids
Fifty people have been arrested so far in a massive series of anti-drugs operations across the UK.
Around 800 police officers were involved in the raids, which targeted more than 50 properties in Southampton, London, Slough in Berkshire and Solihull in the West Midlands, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The raids were the latest phase in Operation Phoenix - an operation by Hampshire Police, which targets drugs, stolen property and firearms offences.
It is understood that 37 properties were raided in Southampton, 15 in London and one each in Slough and Solihull.
Premises are still being searched and police have said that a "significant" number of items have been seized.
A total of 88 people were convicted of a variety of drugs and theft offences, following the first two phases of Operation Phoenix in October 2005 and January 2006.

The six, aged between 18 and 30, were arrested during a series of raids. As a result eight homes in west, east and north London and one business are being searched.

Arrests Follow Cannabis Farm Raids
Sixteen people have been arrested following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) into the sale of equipment for the wholesale production of cannabis. Yesterday morning, officers arrested 14 men and two women, aged between 16 and 55 years old, in a series of searches across south-east London, Kent and Leicestershire.
