Teenager Raped In Scottish Village
Police are hunting for a man who raped a teenage jogger in a village in North Lanarkshire.
The incident happened around 9pm on November 27, as the 15-year-old was jogging along Main Street in Banton.
A man approached her and forced her into a nearby field where he indecently assaulted her.
The girl managed to break free and ran home, where her family contacted police. She was not injured in the attack, but Strathclyde Police said that she had been left "very traumatised" by her ordeal.
The attacker is described as in his late 20s, 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing a hooded top with a hooded jacket over it, blue jeans, white trainers and a baseball cap.
Detective Inspector Gary Church at Cumbernauld CID said that police wanted to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time that the attack took place. Anyone with any information is asked to contact: Cumbernauld Police Office on: 01236 503900 or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Edinburgh. It took place in front of his girlfriend and her two young children and while he was walking his dog. The 23-year-old, who has not been named, was attacked by three men in Wardieburn Street West, Granton.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.
