Chemical Hazard Alert As Pupil Sprays Classroom
Five pupils and a teacher have been injured in a chemical incident at a North Wales school.
Firefighters were called to Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle, Penygroes in Caernarfon after a student sprayed a cleaning substance in class.
It is understood that the other children in the class have been sent home as a precautionary measure.
North Wales Police are currently trying to identify the substance, which is understood to have brought into the school by the pupil.
County safety manager Terry Williams said: "The teacher took all the right actions for such an incident by opening all the windows to aid ventilation, ensuring the pupils were taken outside to safety and calling the emergency services."
There are more than 500 pupils at the comprehensive school.

Pupil Dies On School Trip To France
A 12-year-old girl has died during a school trip to the south of France. Jessica Lawson, a pupil at Wolfreton School in Hull, was on a visit to the Activ4 adventure centre in the Massif Central region. It is understood a swimming accident occurred and she was airlifted to hospital in Limoges on 21 July, where she later died.

Pupil Dies After Wall Collapses In Edinburgh School
A pupil has died after a wall collapsed on to her at a school in Edinburgh. Emergency services were called to the scene at Liberton High School, Gilmerton Road, at around 10am this morning. Ambulance staff treated the schoolgirl at the scene, however she was pronounced dead. The incident is believed to have happened in a PE changing room.

£1bn Towards Free School Meals
£1bn is being unlocked to fund the Department of Education's free school meals commitment. The news, announced by deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, follows an announcement in September that every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools will receive a free school lunch.
