Police Question Four Men Over Pensioner Murder

Police in Hampshire are continuing to question four men on suspicion of the murder of an elderly woman at her home in Otterbourne, near Winchester.

The body of Georgina Edmonds' was found at her home in Kiln Lane by her son, Harry, on Friday. A post-mortem revealed that she died from head injuries.

The four men, aged 21, 28, 36 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday morning at the Elderfield House ex-offenders hostel and are being questioned at separate police stations around the county.

Police have said that they are keeping an open mind in the investigation and that other lines of inquiry were being pursued.

At a press conference on Monday, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Barton said: "As part of our enquiries we are still keen to speak to anyone who may have information. In particular, we would like dog walkers, joggers, ramblers and anyone who knew Mrs Edmonds to contact us. Similarly, we'd like to speak to anyone who used public transport in that area who may have seen anything suspicious.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who knows somebody who has been acting strangely since Friday, or who may have returned home with blood stained clothing."
