Cornwall Hotel Fire Suspect Released
A 21-year-old man arrested this week on suspicion of the murder of three people in a hotel blaze in Cornwall has been released on bail.
Two men, aged 44 and 21, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the fire at the Penhallow Hotel in Newquay on August 18 last year.
The older man remains in custody.
More than 80 people escaped from the fire, but three people, all from Staffordshire, died.
Peter Hughes, 43, from Cheslyn Hay, was killed as he tried to rescue his 86-year-old mother Monica from the fire. Mrs Hughes also died, along with 80-year-old Joan Harper, from Stoke-on-Trent.
The hotel was later demolished following the fire, which was described as the worst in the country for 30 years.
