Teens Plead Guilty To Wrapper Row Killing
Two teenagers have pleaded guilty to killing a man in a row over a chocolate bar wrapper.
Evren Anil, 23, from Upper Norwood, southeast London, died after confronting the boys over a wrapper which was thrown his car window in Crystal Palace, southeast London, last August.
Mr Anil was threatened with a knife during the confrontation and was punched to the ground. He hit his head on the pavement and suffered serious head injuries, which left him in a coma. He died eight days after the attack.
His older sister, 26-year-old Elif, was also in the car when the attack took place.
The two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, both pleaded guilty to manslaughter. The 16-year-old, from Thornton Heath in southeast London, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and knife possession at the Old Bailey on Monday, while his 17-year-old co-defendant admitted the same two charges today.
Reporting restrictions meant that the 16-year-old's plea could only be reported after the other boy's plea had been heard.
They have been remanded in custody and are due to be sentenced on April 4.

The Appeal Court has heard that an SAS sniper faced “undue pressure” from his own barrister, to plead guilty to a charge of possessing a handgun. At a court martial in November Sgt Danny Nightingale, from Crewe, admitted possessing the 9mm Glock pistol and 338 rounds of ammunition.

As a result of prison conditions in Argentina a woman due to give birth in May has avoided being extradited to face dugs charges. Arrested in Buenos Aires in 2007 while carrying over 6kg of cocaine, Lucy Wright, successfully argued at the High Court that being extradited would breach her human rights.
