Mother Brings Scarlett's Body Home
The mother of Scarlet Keeling, the teenager who was raped and murdered in Goa has arrived back in the UK to organise her daughter's funeral.
Fiona MacKeown, 43, arrived in Heathrow Airport from Mumbai, India last night with her daughter's coffin.
The partially clothed body of the 15-year-old was discovered on February 19 at Anjuna Beach, Goa where the family were on vacation.
A tired and emotional Mrs MacKeown met family members at the airport before travelling back to North Devon to arrange Scarlett's funeral, which is expected to be held within the next three weeks.
Mrs MacKeown has vowed to return to India to ensure the investigation continues into her murder.
She believes that police officials, politicians and drugs mafia, have covered up Scarlett's death.
Mrs MacKeown called for a second post-mortem which revealed Scarlett died from drowning after her head was pushed under for between five and 10 minutes. The examination also disclosed that Scarlett was given Ecstasy, cocaine and LSD on the night she died.
Two men have been arrested, Samson D'Souza, 28, who was remanded in custody on suspicion of rape and Placido Carvalho, in his early thirties, who has appeared in court on suspicion of drugging and assisting murder.
