Burrell May Avoid Perjury Investigation
Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell may not face a perjury investigation as the coroner of the inquest has said that he has no plans to involve police.
The jury at the six-month inquest concluded that Princess Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed were unlawfully killed due to the "gross negligence" of driver Henri Paul and the paparazzi.
Lord Justice Scott Baker said that the evidence that Mr Burrell presented was "not the whole truth" but that not all his testimony should be disregarded.
'The Sun' newspaper had reported that Mr Burrell was caught on video claiming that he had not told the inquest the "whole truth" and had introduced "red herrings" in his evidence.
Diana's sons, William and Harry have agreed with the verdict and also paid tribute to Trevor Rees, the sole survivor of the fatal crash.
Diana, Dodi and driver Henri Paul were killed when the car they were travelling in crashed in the Pont de l'Alma Tunnel in Paris on August 31, 1997.
