BA Mislay Dead Man's Luggage

The belongings of a British Airways passenger who died on a London bound flight last week have gone missing.

The luggage, which is believe to contain his mobile phone and address book, has meant that his family have been unable to contact some people for his funeral.

BA released a statement, which said: "We can confirm that on April 2 a passenger on board BA26 Hong Kong to Heathrow collapsed and died during the flight. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family at what must be a very upsetting time.

"We have been in constant touch with his family and have been doing our utmost to return the baggage to them."

Problems with baggage have spiraled since Terminal 5 opened, creating a backlog that is reported to be up to 28,000 bags.

Much of the luggage has been sent to cities in Europe and the US to be sorted.
