Gang Members Guilty Of Erhahon Murder

Three teenage gang members have been found guilty of the murder of 14-year-old Paul Erhahon.

A further two have been charged with his manslaughter.

The Old Bailey heard that the teenager was attacked by a gang of 17 members in Leytonstone, east London last April. He died after being stabbed in the heart with a sword.

Jurors heard that older members of the gang encouraged the younger members to carry out the vicious attack to "earn their spurs".

Members of the gang carried baseball bats, knives and swords and wore hoods and masks during the assault.

Detective Inspector Mick Foote who led the investigation said in a statement: "[Paul] had obviously decided to stand his ground and unfortunately the consequences are very grave."

Seven further defendants have pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and wounding with intent.

Sentences will be passed down on 9 May.
