Post Mortem Due On TV Presenter's Body
A post mortem is due to be carried out today on the body of TV presenter Mark Speight, who was found dead in Paddington Railway Station at the weekend.
The 42-year-old had not been seen since April 7. He was found hanging on the roof of MacMillan House, a building next to Paddington Railway Station, on Sunday morning by Network Rail staff.
British Transport Police confirmed that his body was found "in a remote area, out of public view".
The post mortem will aim to determine how Mr Speight died and how long his body lay undiscovered.
Police are now investigating how the presenter managed to find his way into the partially disused office block.
They are examining CCTV footage from the station on the day that he was last seen alive.
Mr Speight had reportedly been devastated following the death of his fiancée Natasha Collins in January.
Miss Collins, 31, was found dead in the flat she shared with Mr Speight in St John's Wood in northwest London on January 3. Earlier this month, an inquest recorded a verdict of death by misadventure after hearing how she had taken cocaine, sleeping tablets and alcohol.
Miss Collins, who was found in the bath, had also suffered 60% burns from the boiling water.
Mr Speight was arrested on suspicion of murder and supplying Class A drugs following Miss Collins' death, but he was not charged with any offences.
He had been living with Miss Collins' mother, Carmen, following his fiancée's death and it was she who reported him missing last week when he failed to meet her.
