Luke Hodge's Killer Jailed

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Luke Hodge.

48-year-old Tony Michael McCann of Station Road, Twickenham, had been found guilty at the Old Bailey on Monday of the stabbing and killing of Mr Hodge, 33, while he lay in his bed on 27 July, 2006.

The passing of sentence follows an investigation by Homicide and Specialist Crimes Directorate, based at Belgravia, led by DI Brent Hyatt.

The court heard that following the stabbing at Mr Hodges’ home by an intruder wearing a balaclava, emergency services were called but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

It is recommended that McCann should serve a minimum of 21 years.
