Doherty Out - In Time For Glastonbury
Trouble-prone indie star Pete Doherty has been released early from Wormwood Scrubs prison - after serving just 29 days of a 14-week sentence - and in time for some major concerts.
The singer was jailed in April after he breached a probation order that he was given for drug and driving offences in 2007.
He was suspended in October for driving while uninsured and for possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis.
After being released, Doherty showed journalists a certificate that proved he passed a drugs test while in jail.
The Babyshambles frontman claimed that his time in jail involved "a lot of gangsters and Radio 4" and said he was looking forward to spending some time with his pet cats.
When asked if he had taken drugs while in prison, he replied: "Well, I knew it was going to be a bit rough to start with, with the overcrowding and the medical facilities.
"Although they do their best - they are good [but] they can't really cater for the average junkie."
Due to his early release, Doherty will now be able perform a rescheduled solo show at London's Royal Albert Hall.
He will also fulfill his headline slot on the Park Stage at this year's Glastonbury.
