Elderly Couple Found Dead By Relative
An elderly couple have been found dead at their home in West Sussex at the weekend.
Police are investigating the deaths of Reginald Paisley and his wife Drusilla, of Leylands Road, Burgess Hill after their bodies were found on Sunday around 3pm.
Mr Paisley, in his 80s was found hanging and his wife, in her 70s had head injuries.
The bodies which were in close proximity to each other were found by a close family relative.
It is understood that the family member broke into their home after "several days of no contact".
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and are under investigation. Nobody else is being sought in connection with the incident".
The couples detached two-storey home has been cordoned off.
Residents are shocked by the discovery. A neighbour said: "We're horrified. It's the sort of thing you pick up and read in the paper but don't think it will happened near you."
It is reported that the couple were keen gardeners and that they were "very private and kept themselves to themselves".
House to house enquiries were carried out last night.
A post mortem is due to take place later.

The numbers increased from 1.4 million to 2.3 million, according to the ONS' 'Focus On Families' report, which was published on Thursday.

An elderly couple have been found dead at their home in the Greater Manchester area. Detectives were called to the home of Ken and Eileen Martin, aged 77 and 76, on Monday, where the bodies were discovered at their home on Broadway, Davyhulme at 6.05pm.

Couple found dead in museum
Police are investigating a suspected murder and suicide at the World Museum in Liverpool. Merseyside Police were called to the World Museum on Sunday, following reports that a man had fallen to his death from a balcony. However, police then discovered a teenage girl suffering from stab wounds. The pair were taken to hospital where both later died.

A woman from Oldham has been found guilty of helping her husband plan a "jihad at home" terrorist attack on Bury's Jewish community. Shasta Khan, 38, denied being involved with Mohammed Sajid Khan's plans but was found guilty of engaging in preparation for terrorism and two counts of possessing information useful for terrorism.

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of an elderly couple in Kent. Brett Clifton, 21, of Beckett Street, Faversham, is accused of murdering Terry Martin, 72, and his wife Vera, 78, in their home. Mr Clifton appeared before Sittinghourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.
