Four Appear In Court Accused Of Murder
A man and three teenagers have appeared in court accused of murdering a young boy in a public park.
Amar Aslam, 17, was found in a West Yorkshire park on Sunday evening by two passers-by.
Emergency services were called to Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury at around 7.00pm but Amar was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Yorkshire Police said the Amar had suffered a "sustained and vicious beating" and died from head injuries.
Twenty-year-old Ameen Hussain Ali and three boys, all aged 15, appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court today charged with his murder and a charge of robbery.
The four accused have been remanded in custody to appear before Leeds Crown Court on 5 June.
No bail applications were made on behalf of the defendants.
Three other youths who were also arrested in connection with the murder inquiry have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Amar's sister, Samreen said in a statement on behalf of her family that Amar was a "loving and special brother" who was "caring and sensitive".
"Our Moon may have gone and without doubt he will be missed but will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace in heaven," she said.
London's Deputy Mayor for Young People, Ray Lewis, has described the problem of crime in the capital as "a rising onslaught".
