Supermodel Pleads Guilty To Four 'Heathrow' Charges

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has pleaded guilty to four charges in connection with an incident at Heathrow airport.

A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) says that the model pleaded guilty to four charges, which included assault and a public order offence.

Wearing a dark suit and sunglasses, Campbell, 38, was escorted by her minders through a sea of photographers and reporters outside Uxbridge Magistrates Court in west London.

Campbell had originally faced five charges including three counts of assaulting a constable and using abusive words to the crew of the airplane.

The incident occurred on an outbound flight to Los Angeles from Heathrow's Terminal 5. It is understood the model had complained that her bags had gone missing.

Campbell's spokesman, Alan Edwards said outside the court that the incident was "regrettable" and that she wanted to give magistrates her side of the story.

Her lawyer, Simon Nicholls said she was "bitterly disappointed" to be charged but that she "respected the prosecutors' decision".

The model could face jail for up to six months imprisionment and/or be fined up to £5,000 for each count of assault. Ms Campbell will be sentenced later.

Ms Campbell's first foray into the spotlight was at age seven when she was cast as a pupil to appear in a music video for Bob Marley's song 'Is This Love?'

This is not the first such appearance for the model. In 2000, Ms Campbell pleaded guilty in Toronto to an assault charge for attacking an assistant while filming in 1998.

In January 2007, the model pleaded guilty to 'misdemeanor assault' in New York for throwing her cell phone at her maid in a row over jeans.

She was ordered to complete community service and attend an anger-management programme.
