Leslie Faces Fresh 'Rape' Allegations
Former children's TV presenter John Leslie has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape.
Scotland Yard said that a man in his 40s was quizzed over an allegation of rape and sexual assault in November 1995.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Officers are investigating an allegation of rape and indecent assault on a woman.
"He was interviewed and bailed pending further inquiries to a date in late August."
Mr Leslie, a former Blue Peter presenter, has denied the fresh allegations which are believed to have surfaced after a party at his home in Sheen, West London.
Edinburgh-born Leslie was previously arrested on suspicion of rape and indecent assault in December 2002.
He was a top TV personality then, with a £250,000-a-year job as co-presenter of This Morning, when things first went wrong.
However, he denied all the charges and was acquitted in 2004 of two counts of alleged indecent assault on a 23-year-old actress, in May 1997.
Mr Leslie also faced controversy when former co-host Ulrika Jonsson released her autobiography in 2002. While the book did not name him, she wrote that a TV presenter had indecently assaulted her.
But, it is understood he was named later by another TV host, Matthew Wright.
Mr Leslie was then sacked from This Morning in 2002 - following the allegations.
The presenter also featured on Wheel of Fortune and Survivor. He is a former boyfriend of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Abi Titmuss.
