Funerals Take Place of Tragic Dad And His Children
The funerals will take place today of a father who committed suicide and killed his two children.
Seven-year-old Amy Philcox and Owen, 3, will be laid to rest today at 1pm All Saints Church, Daresbury Lane, Daresbury, Cheshire.
The funeral of their father Brian Philcox, 52, of Lockgate East, will take place six miles away at 10am at St Edward's Roman Catholic Church, Ivy Street, Runcorn.
Mr Philcox, a martial arts expert, and his two children were found dead in the family's Land Rover in an unclassified road near Maenan on June 15.
It is reported that all died from carbon monoxide poisoning after inhaling car fumes.
It is understood that Mr Philcox had been going through a divorce.
Reports say that Mr Philcox had picked up his daughter and son from their mother's house in Cheshire for an access visit but did not bring them back on Saturday as agreed.
A news source states that Mr Philcox rang his wife hours before all three were found dead and said: "I'll make the papers, just you see."
It is believed the family had drove to Llangollen, where it is thought they visited the Llangollen Railway, and then parked up at a remote spot off the A470 at Maenan near Llanrwst.
The tragic family were found by a passer-by at around 3pm.
Mrs Philcox said of her children that "they were more than everything to us" and "they were are world and reason for living".
"They were our beautiful little angels and greatly missed. They'll always be in our hearts," she said.
It is reported that Mr Philcox also left two hoax bombs targeting his wife, 37, and her family.
It is understood the couple split 18 months ago after eight years of marriage.
An inquest into the deaths of Mr Philcox and his daughter and son has been opened and adjourned by North Wales central coroner John Hughes.
