Murder Investigation After Tower Block Death
A murder investigation is underway after a man was killed in a fall from a block of flats in Bolton.
Police were called to flats at Fernstead, in Blackshaw Lane, Deane, on Sunday shortly before 7.30pm, where they found the body of the 44-year-old man, at the rear of the building.
It is reported he fell about 20 feet from the first floor balcony of the flats.
The victim was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police have arrested six people, three men, aged 32, 36 and 37 and three women, aged 31, 32 and 36, on suspicion of murder.
They are being questioned in police custody.
The tower block, one of three, was last night cordoned off by police who began interviewing residents.
Floodlights were set up at the back of the flats and a police tent erected at the scene as darkness fell last night.
A semi-detached house in Hibernia Street, is also reported to have been cordoned off.

A teenage boy who died after falling from a block of flats may have been chased, according to police. Officers say they are investigating whether the 16-year-old boy had been pursued before falling from the building in Paragon Road, Hackney. Emergency services were called to the scene where they found the victim shortly after 3pm on Wednesday.

Major Police Hunt Launched After Boy Taken From Hospital
A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.

Kent Police, in partnership with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service, have arrested two men in East London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. On 3 May, Kent Police began a search for Michael Wheatley, 55, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill after being released on temporary licence.
