Crew Injured In Hawk Jet Crash
Two crew members have been injured after a Hawk jet crash landed in the carpark of the RAF Cranwell airbase.
The RAF has confirmed the jet came down next to the air traffic control tower at the base in Lincolnshire.
The crew members ejected from the jet but it is not thought that they were seriously injured.
Around 20 firefighters were sent to the scene.
An RAF spokesperson said: "Both crew ejected safely and are currently being assessed medically.
"The Civilian Air Ambulance is at the scene along with a RAF Search and Rescue Helipcopter."
A Board of Inquiry is being established to investigate all aspects of the crash.
The RAF do not yet know what caused the incident.
The Hawk Jet is the chosen aircraft of the RAF's Red Arrows aerobatics team.

An RAF jet has crashed at an airfield in Anglesey in north Wales, police have confirmed. The Hawk plane crashed at the Mona airfield around 12:25pm on Friday. Initial reports suggested that the pilot ejected safely and it has now been confirmed that the pilot has been airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by RAF helicopter.

Teenager killed in holiday jet ski accident
A police investigation is underway following the death of a British teenage girl in a holiday jet ski tragedy in Cyprus. Hannah Sutton, 16, a boarding school pupil from Manchester was killed when her boyfriend, James Dudley, also 16, apparently lost control of the jet ski he was riding and rode over her, off the island’s Pissouri beach.

Three RAF servicemen killed in Iraq
Three RAF servicemen have been killed during an attack on their base in Iraq, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed. Two men from 1 Squadron RAF Regiment and one man from 504 Squadron Royal Auxiliary were killed in an indirect fire attack on the Contingency Operating Base in Basra, Iraq.

RAF Lyneham set to close by 2012
RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire is to close by 2012 with the loss of almost 600 jobs at the transport and logistics support airfield. Under the rationalisation plan confirmed today by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) the squadrons based at RAF Lyneham will be transferred to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
