Detectives Investigate Alleged 'Home Alone' Case
Three young children have been placed in foster care, after West Yorkshire Police discovered they had been allegedly left "home alone" for two weeks.
Detectives confirmed the three children - aged five, six and 11 - were placed in protective custody, as there was no adult at the property in the Burley area of Leeds.
"Officers received a call from a member of the public on Saturday reporting concern for three children at an address in Burley," a police statement said.
"Police attended at the address and found three children aged 11 years, six years and five-years-old and no adult present.
"They have been brought into protective custody where they are being cared for.
"The children do not have any injuries and appear to be fit and well."
Detectives are currently working with social services to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, and to see if any offences have been committed.
