Burned Body Found On Scottish Golf Course
A golf course in Carnoustie in Angus has been closed, following the discovery of a badly burned body this morning, Tayside Police have confirmed.
The body was discovered by officers around 6:40am this morning on the Buddon Golf Course.
The area where the body was discovered has been cordoned off and an examination of the scene is being carried out.
Police are also trying to establish the identity of the dead person.
The Buddon Golf Course remains closed, but the Championship and Burnside courses have now reopened.
Detectives, uniformed officers and crime officers are currently at the scene and the public are being advised to avoid the area.
Anyone who was in the area this morning and may have seen anything that could help with the police enquiry, are asked to contact: 0845 600 5705.

Golf Course Victim Identified
A badly burned body found on the 11th tee of a world famous golf course has been identified by police. The discovery was made by greenkeepers at Carnoustie, Angus, on Wednesday. Robert Higgins, 51, of Main Street, Barry, has been named as the victim. The area was sealed off as while officers worked at the scene. The course has re-opened today.

Golf Course Body 'Had Head Injury'
The young man whose body was found badly burnt on a Brighton golf course, died from a head injury, a post-mortem has revealed. The body of the man, who was in his late teens or early twenties, was found between the 17th and 18th holes at the Dyke Golf club on the outskirts of Brighton, just before midday on Saturday.

The company, which had been seeking a buyer for the business, blamed poor snow conditions and protracted negotiations with a potential buyer on the decision to call in the receivers.

A body has been found by detectives investigating the disappearance of a man who was last seen running across a golf course in Essex. 47-year-old Michael Redmond of The Vale in Basildon was reported missing on 5 July after visiting a gym next to Club Kingswood.

The Open Golf Competition To Return To NI
The Open golf competition is to return to Northern Ireland in 2019, it has been confirmed. The Royal Portrush Golf Club is to host the sport's oldest competiton for the first time since it was last hosted at the venue in 1951.
