British Soldier Killed In Afghanistan
A British soldier has been killed while on routine patrol duties in southern Afghanistan yesterday.
The soldier from the Royal Logistics Corps was killed in a contact explosion near Musa Quleh in Helmand the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated.
A spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel David Reynolds, said: "This soldier's death will have a lasting impact on his family and friends as well as those who served alongside him. We will ensure that he is never forgotten."

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed the name of a British soldier killed in a bomb explosion in Iraq on Sunday. Major Matthew Bacon, 34, from the London area, was travelling in an armoured landrover in Basra, southern Iraq, when a roadside bomb exploded, hitting the vehicle.

Sergeant Christian Hickey, of the 1st Battalion the Coldstream Guards, died as a result of his injuries, following the explosion, which took place around 11:23 local time in Basra on Tuesday night.
