Man Shot Dead In London Nightclub
Detectives are appealing for information after a 24-year-old man was shot dead in a south London nightclub.
The man was shot in the SE1 nightclub on Weston Street at around 5.40am on Sunday 5 October, where he had been on a night out with his friends.
It is understood he was approached by a man who produced a gun and shot him once from close range.
After being shot, the victim was helped outside by his friends and an ambulance was called. He was taken to the Royal London Hospital where, despite efforts from medical staff, died at 11.50am.
A post mortem examination is due to take place today at Greenwich mortuary.
Officers from Operation Trident are investigating and an incident room has been set up in Clapham, under DCI Adnan Qureshi.
DCI Qureshi said: "We know that the club was still busy at the time of the murder and there will have been a number of witnesses to the murder and events that have preceded it.
"Naturally when shots were fired the crowd dispersed and many left the scene. It is those people, or anyone that has heard information about the murder, who need to call us. Their information will be treated sensitively and people should take confidence in a number of significant successful prosecutions this team has achieved recently."
