Lorry Driver Charged Over Motorway Deaths
A lorry driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a family of six were killed in a motorway collision.
David and Michelle Statham had been returning to their home in Llandudno, north Wales, with their four children after visiting relatives in the West Midlands.
Mr Statham, 38, his 33-year-old wife and four children Reece, 13, Jay, nine, 20-month old Mason and 10-week-old baby Ellouise all died after their car bust into flames following a collision with three lorries and another car on the M6 motorway in Cheshire.
Paulo Jorge Nogueira da Silva, 46, from Portugal, faces six counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was charged by Cheshire Police on Thursday.

Motorway Closed Following Collision
Scotland's busiest motorway, the M8, has been closed following a multi-vehicle collision near Livingston. It is understood that two people have been taken to hospital following the crash at about 08:45. A van, a car and a lorry are understood to have been involved in the incident. Police said that there are long tailbacks and delays are expected.

Family of four die in motorway collision
A family of four have been killed following a road smash on the M1 in the early hours of this morning. The four died – two adults and a boy and a girl – after an articulated lorry collided with the rear of their car at around 12.20am. Their vehicle was shunted into another articulated lorry in front.

Nine US soldiers killed in helicopter crash
Nine US soldiers have been killed after their Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Iraq, it has been reported today. It is not yet clear whether the crash was the result of a technical difficulty or gunfire. The crash claimed the lives of all those on board.
