Preacher Jailed After 'Bail Breach'
A radical preacher, dubbed as Osama bin Laden's "right-hand-man in Europe", has today been ordered back to prison for breaching the terms of his bail.
Abu Qatada, 47, was arrested at his London home in November amid fears he planned to leave Britain to the Middle East.
A three-member panel of judges at the Special Immigrations was told the firebrand cleric had been trying to leave the UK.
The Jordanian national was under 22-hour curfew until his arrest last month.
Qatada - whose real name is Omar Mahmoud Mohammed Othman - is on bail pending the conclusion of attempts by the British Government to return him to Jordan.
Mr Justice Mitting told a short hearing in central London that Qatada would be detained under immigration laws.
Neither Qatada or his legal team were in court to hear the judgment.
