Woman Knocked Down By Car Hijacker
A woman is in hospital after being run down by a man who hijacked her car as she scraped ice from the windscreen.
Caroline Johnson was knocked over as she prepared to take her son to school on Tuesday morning. She was scraping ice of the windscreen of her car when a man jumped into the vehicle and drove off, running her over.
The 46-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering multiple injuries in the incident at her home in Humber Way, Langley, Slough, Berkshire.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene following the car theft, which took place between 7.30 and 8am yesterday.
Mrs Johnson was taken to Wrexham Park Hospital in Slough, and is being treated for internal injuries and injuries to her arms and legs. It is understood she is in a stable condition.
Her husband Mark Collins, 51, told the Daily Mail he was "devastated" at the incident.
He added: "What happened yesterday was completely unnecessary, and I urge anyone who can help the police catch whoever did this to my wife to come forward.
"I would like to thank the local community and our neighbours who have been immensely supportive to me and my family."
Mrs Johnson's car, a champagne-coloured Citroen Picasso, was found abandoned in Sycamore Walk, George Green, Buckinghamshire.
Detectives investigating the incident say they are looking for a white man who is understood to be in his 30s.
