Investigation Underway After Pensioner Stabbed To Death
A murder investigation is underway in South Wales after a pensioner was stabbed to death.
The 66-year-old woman, of Llanbradach, Caerphilly, was attacked as she walked along the street just after 8pm on Tuesday, Gwent Policed have said.
The woman was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with stab wounds to her upper body. She later died.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being questioned by police.
Police have launched a murder investigation and are carrying out house-to-house inquiries.
Det Supt Adrian Erasmus said: "We have opened an incident room and detectives have been working through the night on this case.
"House-to-house enquiries and searches are being carried out in the area and a 22-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
"He is currently in custody being questioned."

Police were speaking on Monday about the discovery on October 10 of the remains of two bodies in the garden of a house in Blenheim Close, Forest Town, Nottinghamshire. Police say they were led to the property by a tip.

Fifth victim identified in Suffolk murder investigation Police investigating a series of murders in Suffolk have identified the fifth victim as 29-year-old Annette Nicholls. Her body was one of two discovered near Levington on December 12. The other body was identified on December 14 as Paula Clennell, 24.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Double Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of double murder after two people were found dead at a house in Essex. Emergency services discovered the man and woman at a property in Bentfield Gardens, Stansted at approximately 11pm on 21 July. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in custody.
