Spiderman 3 Actress Commits Suicide
A British actress who appeared in Spiderman 3 has committed suicide in her Paris apartment, just two days before her 29th birthday.
Lucy Gordon, pictured here, who appeared in the third instalment of the Hollywood blockbuster series alongside Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, was found dead in her home on Wednesday 20 May.
The Oxford-born actress had played the part of British reporter Jennifer Dugan in the movie.
French police said her body was discovered yesterday, and her agent Jean-Louis Diamonika confirmed she had taken her own life.
"There were no suspicious circumstances," a detective said. "It appears that the young woman took her own life."
Miss Gordon, who also worked as a model, made her screen debut in 2001 in the film Serendipity with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.
She had also just completed one of her biggest parts yet playing the role of Serge Gainsbourg's lover Jane Birkin.
The actress had also a starring role in a new French comedy, Cineman, due out this year, as well as a larger part in romantic comedy Les Poupées Russes with Audrey Tautou.
