Nursery Worker Held Over 'Indecent Images' Distribution
A Plymouth nursery worker has been arrested in connection with the distribution of indecent images of children.
The 39-year-old is being held after a raid on her home in Efford and Little Teds nursery in the city.
The nursery in Laira has been closed while Devon and Cornwall Police carry out inquiries.
Officers trained in internet crime and children’s care specialists are involved in the investigation.
The woman was arrested just before midnight on Monday, following a tip-off they received at about 9.00pm.
Commanding officer Ch Supt Jim Webster described the investigation as "fast moving" after the allegations were made.
He said: "Our work today is to find out what has happened, where the images have come from, where they have been sent to, and any risk to anybody in Plymouth.
"Our main priority is to stop abuse of children."
A police spokesman also said: "Items have been seized in connection with the ongoing inquiry and will be subject to further examination.
"The nursery will be closed while police carry out their inquiries.
"Police will keep parents of any children who attend the nursery updated as to the progress of the inquiry."
Little Teds, within the grounds of Laira Green Primary School, has places for 64 children aged from two to eight.
A second unit at Laira United Church Hall has places for 50 children.
