Paras Killed In Afghanistan Blast
Three British soldiers have been killed by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced today.
The servicemen from the Parachute Regiment, died after their Jackal armoured vehicle was hit by an explosion and small-arms fire north of Lashkar Gah in Helmand province on Thursday afternoon.
The soldiers were taking part in a routine security patrol with the Afghan national army when the incident took place.
A fourth serviceman was also critically injured.
The troops were carrying out a routine security patrol with Afghan national security forces.
Their families have been informed, the MoD confirmed.

MoD to name soldier killed in Afghanistan
The Ministry of Defence is expected to name a soldier killed in an explosion in Afghanistan on Wednesday, later today. The soldier, from the 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment, was killed in an explosion around 5:50am local time in the northeastern outskirts of Sangin in the Helmand province. Two other soldiers were also injured.

An NHS medical photographer has been suspended after pornographic material was allegedly found on a computer at a children's hospital in Edinburgh. The material is believed to have been found during routine computer security monitoring at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Regulatory body for security guards and bouncers launched
In a shake up of the private security industry announced today bouncers and wheel clampers will have to be licensed and regulated by the new Security Industry Authority (SIA). The measures are designed to protect the public from rogue operators and create higher standards of recruitment and training for private security operatives and managers.

Three British soldiers have been killed in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed. A fourth soldier was seriously injured. The MoD said that the troops were part of the 4,000-strong Nato-led International Security Assistance Force on patrol in the volatile Helmand Province around 0630 GMT when they were attacked.
