Stena Line and DFDS launch new Landbridge services
Leading ferry company Stena Line has signed an agreement with DFDS Seaways to operate a new ‘Landbridge’ service to Northern Europe.
From this month onwards, Stena Line customers will be able to travel on the Stena HSS from Belfast to Stranraer and onwards from Newcastle to Amsterdam for as little as £248 return for a car and two passengers including cabin accommodation. Crossings via Stranraer and Newcastle to Sweden (Gothenburg), Norway (Kristiansand) and via Harwich to Denmark (Esbjerg) and Germany (Cuxhaven) will also be available.
Paul Grant, Head of Sales and Marketing for Stena Line said: “Stena Line and DFDS Seaways already work together to provide excellent services to the Continent from our Southern Irish ports.
“Now we can offer our customers the opportunity of a speedy crossing from Belfast on the most reliable, technologically advanced craft on the Irish Sea, followed by a short drive to Newcastle and comfortable onward sailing with private cabin and facilities on DFDS Seaways to Europe.”
Ken Lendrum, Business Development Representative for DFDS in Ireland added: “DFDS Seaways are delighted to be joining up with Stena Line to offer our customers the most reliable and comfortable sea crossing available from Belfast.
“It is our belief that this partnership will ensure that our customers have an enjoyable crossing with their holiday beginning as soon as they step aboard.”
Customers crossing for holidays of seven or eight nights or more can also avail of an early-booking offer of a free Belfast - Stranraer crossing, with additional deals also available for group bookings. (MB)

Stena Line rewarded at Transport and Logistic Awards
Stena Line Freight has been declared the Irish Sea Shipping Line of the Year at the Export & Freight Transport and Logistic Awards 2002. The company was selected from the list of finalists on the strength of its entry, which detailed its scheduling capacity, Information Technology capabilities and a strong customer focus.

Stena Line post “remarkable” first quarter figures
Leading Northern Ireland ferry company, Stena Line has revealed significant increases in both car and passenger levels on its Belfast-Stranraer route during the first quarter of 2002. The company's latest figures show that car volumes have increased by 18 per cent and passenger volumes by nine per cent compared to the first 14 weeks of last year.
