Two children injured in hit-and-run

The Police Service of Northern Ireland have said the car that was involved in a hit-and-run accident was stolen.

The two boys, aged ten and 12, were injured by a hit-and-run driver outside the Central Station in Belfast on January 3.

One boy is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering head injuries, and the other boy’s condition is described as “stable”.

The incident happened outside the station at East Bridge Street just before 8pm.

The boys were riding their bicycles when they were struck by a car which drove on citywards. The car involved is thought to be a silver or grey coloured vehicle which may bear damage to the windscreen and bumper.

Anyone who was in the area of Central Station at the time of the incident is asked to contact the police at Lisburn Road.

Police are also appealing to the driver of the vehicle to come forward. (CD)
