Belfast Shooting Condemned
Police in north Belfast are investigating a shooting that left a man critically ill.
The attack happened at Ballymoney Street off the Oldpark Road at about 11pm on Thursday and saw three men go into a house and shoot the man in the shoulder. He was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for treatment, where a spokeswoman for the Trust said that the man was in a critical condition.
SDLP North Belfast Councillor Nichola Mallon has condemned the shooting: "Attacks such as last nights shooting in Ballymoney Street have no place in this community.
"People here have known violence in the past and are glad to have moved away from it," she said.
"This man has been left critically ill in hospital. I would urge anyone with information about this shooting to contact the PSNI so that those responsible are brought to justice."
The police have also appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
