Sustainable Building Award For Graham
Graham's head office has been awarded 'Most Sustainable Building 2010' at the Energy, Environmental & Waste Management Awards just held in Belfast.
Entered by BDP Architects, the top builder's new HQ project saw off tough competition including Carvill Group Eco Village on the outskirts of Lisburn, demonstrating that they have built and designed the new flagship building to incorporate energy efficient installations and other techniques, whilst exploiting natural passive design standards, which are influential in making a new building sustainable.
This year marked the fifth anniversary of the awards event which is organised annually by Sustainable Ireland to celebrate the contributions that our industry makes to the environment, and sustainability, to ensure a future for generations to come.
Victor Hamilton, Site Manager, Graham, joined Peter Greenwood, Design Architect, BDP in picking up the award.
