Attack Condemned

North Belfast DUP MP Nigel Dodds has condemned a petrol bomb attack on a house on the lower Oldpark Road. The petrol bomb was thrown at the front door of the property at around 1.15am yesterday morning. The resident escaped through the back door and assisted by his father Joe Keenan, who lives next door, managed to extinguish the flames before the emergency services arrived. Mr Dodds said: "These are blatant sectarian attacks carried out by republican bigots who will not let their Protestant neighbours live at peace. Joe Keenan, who lives in one of the houses, has recorded 130 attacks upon these properties during the past year. This is appalling and must be condemned without reservation. Every assistance and support must be given to enable these residents to remain in their homes. If they were intimidated out then I have no doubt that the next line of houses in the lower Oldpark community would be come under attack from these sectarian thugs," he said.
