Draperstown Group wins 500th IiP accolade
The Workspace Group in Draperstown has been awarded Northern Ireland’s 500th Investors in People (IiP) accreditation.
The award was presented to the company by Dr Sean Farren, Minister for Employment and Learning, who paid tribute to the contribution the organisation has made to community and economic development in the area over the last 15 years.
He said: "This accreditation offers Workspace the opportunity to further build on its strengths and improve even further the quality of services to its customers. Workspace plays a vital role as one of the leading Local Enterprise Agencies in Northern Ireland.
“It is essential that Northern Ireland businesses have a knowledgeable, skilled and adaptable workforce if they are to compete and succeed.
"Effective training and development is a must. No matter what the size or sector of business, success depends on the ability to quickly adapt to change and continually strive to improve performance and competitiveness. The simple fact is that by working together, and learning from one another, we will help each other to succeed."
Congratulating the Workspace Group and Northern Ireland’s 499 other Investors in People on achieving IiP accreditation, Dr Farren said that all 500 organisations clearly placed considerable value in their people. Such a level of commitment was needed, he said, by businesses and organisations across Northern Ireland if economic success was to be continued. (MB)
