NIE nominated for ‘Business Oscars’
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) has reached the national finals of the UK Business Excellence Award for the second year running.
A shortlist of seven companies will be competing for the award, known as the UK ‘Business Oscars’ at a gala dinner in London on Tuesday October 23.
The UK Business Excellence Award, run by the British Quality Foundation, are generally recognised as the UK’s top business awards, identifying organisations who set standards for others to follow.
The five award categories cover large and small organisations in both public and private sectors. The competition involves both a detailed written submission and an intensive site visit by a judging team.
Commenting on his company’s nomination NIE’s Managing Director Harry McCracken said: “Such competitions attract the very best organisations across the UK and this sort of award provides an excellent benchmark of how good Northern Ireland companies are on the national stage.
“To have reached the last seven is a tremendous achievement for NIE and I congratulate all our staff who have worked hard to accomplish this.” (MB)
