Belsonic Announce Additional Acts
Organisers of Belfast's biggest outdoor festival, Belsonic, have announced some additional acts to their already packed line-up.
Model turned actor turned multi-track vocalist and powerchord addict, Jared Leto's nu-metal power ballad popsters, 30-Seconds To Mars, will be joining the Manc bawler, ex-Oasis professional strutter and verbal diarrhea sufferer Liam Gallagher's vehicle, Beady Eye.
Beady Eye appear on Saturday August 20 with support from quickly rising indie punk newbies The Vaccines, while 30 Seconds To Mars play the opening night of the festival on Tuesday August 16 with as yet unannounced support.
This year's Belsonic line-up has expanded to a seven-day event and also features Elbow, The Specials, Dizzy Rascal and Primal Scream headlining the celebrations in Custom House Square, deep in the capital, this August.
According to the event's organisers, Belsonic is one of the largest Northern Irish outdoor music events in history, with some 40,000 people expected to attend.
Other late announcements include UK grime MCs Example & Wretch 32, who will be supporting the godfather of grime, Dizzee Rascal on Wednesday August 17, while R 'n' B garage singer Katy B supports rapper and borderline castrati Plan B on August 25.
