Wexford Hospital To Be Extended
The main contractor, Glenbeigh Construction, has now been appointed for the works involved with the construction of a new two-storey, and part single-storey, 50-bed unit with ancillary facilities in Wexford. Jobs have been secured as the work gets underway.
It is at Farnogue Healthcare Unit, Old Hospital Road, Carricklawn, Wexford Town.
The unit will comprise two households of 20 and 30 beds and a Central Therapy Module and related community spaces.
The total floor area of the development is 3,600 square metres.
Provision is made externally for a goods delivery area, waste management facilities, gas and LPG storage tanks.
A total of 40 car parking spaces are provided with associated vehicular set-down areas and hard/soft landscaping to all garden spaces.
The new main entrance will be constructed off the existing northern boundary on the Old Hospital Road.
New boundary fencing to the perimeter of the site comprises of palisade fencing to the southern boundary and galvanised steel railings on gabion walls to the eastern and western peripheries of the site.
Work is expected to commence on site during early July, 2011 and the contract period is in the region of 12 months.
The architect is the Coady Partnership Architects.

Tesco To Recruit 200 New Staff
Tesco has announced that it is recruiting over 200 new staff for its new store which will open in Newry on 6 June 2013. The announcement was welcomed today by Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry as recruitment opened for the new store. The Minister described the jobs boost as good news for jobseekers in the Newry area.
