Watch The Wimbledon Final At City Hall

Those following the wonders of Wimbledon can enjoy the Men`s Final on the Big screen this weekend at Belfast City Hall this weekend.

Complete with servings of strawberries and cream, the tennis final on Sunday will be one of many live screenings in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Belfast Mayor, Councillor Niall Ó Donnghaile, said: “This will be an occasion for sports fans to get together and enjoy the excitement of a Wimbledon Final.

“There will be a real party atmosphere with a picnic area on the East Lawn and food traders offering a selection of choices. I know strawberries and cream is a big seller at Wimbledon itself and I am sure it will prove equally popular in Belfast.”

The UK number one Andy Murray is facing one of the biggest matches of his career on Friday, facing the defending champion Rafael Nadal in the semi-final.

The British number one has a chance at retribution for his defeat in last year's semi-finals by the Spaniard Nadal when they meet in their Centre Court clash.

The winner will be through to Sunday's game, and if Murray succeeds, there will be high hopes for the first domestic male winner of the competition since 1936.

No tickets are required for Sunday`s screening and entry is free.

Belfast's big screen is just one of 21 Live Sites operating at locations across the UK, erected in partnership between the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG).
