Oxegen Launches Smartphone App
With under a week to go before this year's festival, the 2011 Oxegen smart-phone app and stage times for every artist playing are now available.
Developed in partnership with drinkaware.ie, the app has an interactive planner which will allows you to choose the bands you most want to check out and get reminders of when they're playing. Launched today, the Oxegen iPhone app is now available to download free from iTunes.
Last year the app shot straight to number one in the iTunes chart.
The stage times for Oxegen 2011 have also been revealed. They can be perused on the app, or be see in full by clicking here www.oxegen.ie/line-up/
As well as including a line-up planner, the organisers have introduced new features for this year's app.
Speaking at the launch of the iPhone app, drinkaware.ie Chief Executive Fionnuala Sheehan said: "We are delighted to see the return of the Oxegen iPhone App for 2011 after its success last year. drinkaware.ie first established itself in the festival space with the Festival Survival Guide, providing advice on making the most of the festival season."
Among the new features of the app is the ability to view the whole site through Google Maps, meaning you can easily find the nearest food, bar, toilet or water station. Your friend's current locations will also be visible through facebook tagging so there'll be no more aimless wandering around on your own.
You'll also be able to tag your tent with a virtual flag, to make finding it at the end of the night a whole lot easier.
There is also an updated drinkaware survival guide containing a tick-able check list for all your festival essentials as well as responsible drinking tips on pacing yourself so you make the most of the weekend.
Another addition to the app is is the ability to upload your own personal gig reviews and check out which bands are getting rave reviews from other fans. In this section, there'll also be Oxegen competitions for you to enter.
Oxegen Radio also returns playing tracks from all the best Oxegen stars and features exclusive interviews and all the essential news and gossip.
